Position

Sales & Distribution Manager

Location

Lagos (operating out of our Lekki Media Centre)

The Role

This is a highly challenging but rewarding role for the right candidate with excellent career prospects. The Sales & Distribution Manager is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining the sales and distribution lifecycle of all Habitat Nationwide Publications. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the role will involve leading a team of Distribution Agents and developing new distribution channels while maintaining existing ones.

The Person

The Habitat Nationwide Sales & Distribution Manager will have excellent organizational and strong negotiation skills. Ideally from a sales background, they must be very comfortable with figures, tenacious, presentable and assertive. They must also possess excellent numeracy skills as well as oral and writtten English necessary for effective communication.

They must be innovative in their approach, have a good understanding of distribution workflow and be able to keep abreast of new developments in the print and publishing industry. They must be flexible, able and willing to travel at very short notice to identify, research, assess and report on new and existing distribution channels on a weekly basis. This may include occassional out of hours and weekend work.

Qualifications

The Habitat Nationwide Sales & Distribution Manager will be educated to a degree/HND level at a minimum. Graduates with additional training or professional certifications in a related field will stand a good advantage.

Required Knowledge

  1. Must be knowledgeable and familiar with the distribution workflow process within the print and publishing industry
  2. Excellent local knowledge of Lagos State
  3. Excellent local knowledge of Abuja (FCT)
  4. Good knowledge of Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers and Cross River States

Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a sales or distribution capacity within a corporate organization. Candidates with experience in the print or publishing industry will have a distinct advantage.

Representing a company employing the convergence of Internet, Print and Digital technologies, the Habitat Nationwide Sales & Distribution Manager must also possess the following:

  • Experience of liaising with 3rd party vendors and distribution firms
  • Team leadership qualities and ability to manage and mentor a small to medium-sized team
  • Previous marketing & PR experience is an added bonus

Additional Skills

  • Ability to compile accurate and detailed sales and distribution statistics
  • Ability to compile detailed information and reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Ability to work in a team and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to schedule and manage own workload, develop own leads and follow through to completion
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to follow instructions and set guidelines
  • Ability to use own initiative to resolve complex and sometimes urgent sales & distribution issues

Remuneration

Up to N600,000 GROSS PER ANNUM (depending on experience) + use of company pool car + transportation allowance + bonuses.

The Role


The Habitat Nationwide Freelance Writer/Correspondent is primarily responsible for researching interesting issues, topics, news, trends, events, activities, stories etc related to the real estate, motoring and transportation, hospitality, travel and tourism sectors and developing these into publication-grade articles. The candidate will also be responsible for setting up featured interviews with stakeholders in the related sectors and developing such into educative, informative and publication-grade articles.
The ideal candidate must be able to readily demonstrate a flair for research, excellent writing skills and detailed knowledge and interests in any of the indicated sectors.


The Person


The Habitat Nationwide Freelance Writer/Correspondent must possess good literary skills with an eye for developing publication-grade articles around day to day aspects of the society as related to the indicated sectors.


The ideal candidate must be able to author several (full requirements provided upon application) well researched and publication-grade news articles, events and lifestyle articles, featured interviews on different areas of the Nigerian real estate, motoring and transportation, hospitality, travel and tourism industries on a monthly basis. They must also display a strong understanding of the legal ramifications and ethical significance of intellectual copyright, referencing and plagiarism as it applies to publications authorship.


Qualifications


No specific qualifications required as candidates are evaluated based on the appeal and quality of authored articles. However this role is suitable for candidates with very strong literary skills and a strong bias for researching, writing and reporting.
